3.1 GH-PYTHON COURSE

Additive Manufacturing, or 3D Printing, has become increasingly popular in both product-scale applications, such as vases, and architectural-scale projects, including columns and formwork. The primary challenge in their fabrication lies in establishing an automated digital design workflow—from design and analysis to the generation of a continuous printing path (slicing).

This course aims to provide insight into the basic mechanics of Python coding within the Grasshopper environment. Participants will learn how to create tailored Python components for the design, analysis, slicing, and export of eccentric cylindrical shapes.

The course also explores the potential of algorithmic procedures by utilizing trigonometric functions to create intricate surface textures.

In 4 hours of video lessons you will apply the Python Syntax from the very Beginner to Intermediate Level. With a special focus on object-oriented programming (Classes), the final script will enable the creation of a multitude of unique shapes within seconds, visualize their data, and ultimately export their G-Code for fabrication.

The 4-hour video course is divided into 7 parts and can be played on demand.
